V.11.02 AND OLDER
In case you running into any issues installing, please refer to the Installation Q/A page. Most issues have been recorded and resolved. 

1. DOWNLOAD FILE :
  • After receiving a receipt for subscription, please visit Gumroad's download page and download Groomer's Tool with the Maya version to run with. Currently tested/supported versions are Maya 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024
  • Some tools will not work in older versions of Maya (2019 and older). if you must install, please try downloading the file for Maya 2020.
  • If you are running Maya 2022 with Python 2, please grab the Maya 2020 Groomer's Tool files.
  • Whenever there's a future update, please go back to this Gumroad page to download new files.​ ​​
2. UNPACK :
  • Before installing, please make sure NO other folders inside your Maya directory has a duplicate of the xgtc folder from a prior installation. (Check the scripts, and the pref folders)
  • Un-zip the downloaded .zip file.
  • Extract/Copy both xgtc folder and xgtc_icons folder to your Users\Documents\maya\version\scripts folder.​
  • On my PC, the path is ​C:\Users\blues\OneDrive\Documents\maya\2023\scripts​
  • Note: If you are running Maya in different language other than English, the folder will be: Users\Documents\maya\version\<language>\scripts
    • ​For user running in Maya in Simplified Chinese: Users\Documents\maya\version\zn_CH\scripts
    • ​For user running in Maya in Japanese: Users\Documents\maya\version\ja_JP\scripts ​
3. MAYA RUN COMMAND:
  • In Maya, open Script Editor. In a Python Tab copy and paste the following, select all and run
For Groomer's Tool V.11 and older:

  • ​On the script editor menu, you can then go to File > Save Script to Shelf to add it to your Maya Custom Shelf. ​





4. LICENSING :



  • When you run Groomer’s Tool for the first time, you will get a Licensing Window.





  • Please go to your receipt email, or the content page to get the License Key.





  • When it’s successfully validated, the Groomer’s Tool kit will pop up right after.
